With the purpose of getting Canadian Immigration, you have to prove before immigration authorities that you have adequate English language skills. IELTS checks your proficiency in 4 specific areas of English language. IELTS results are crucial in immigration process because they decide one's eligibility to enter in Canada.
There are 2 types of IELTS test
1. IELTS (Academic) For syudy purpose
2. IELTS (General) is specifically designed for immigration purpose.
IELTS test has modules (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking). Score of each module of IELTS award you an exact number of points.
Following is the comparison of IELTS Band and Canadian Immigration Points.
IELTS band 7 or higher:
4 Points will be awarded for Canadian Immigration
Lower than 7 band but higher than or equal to 5 Band:
2 Points will be awarded for each category
Example: If you have scored 7 in reading and 7 in writing as well, 6.5 Band in listening and 5.5 band in speaking than your total Canadian immigration points will

The rules for IELTS Canada Immigration has been changed. The band score required for 4 points of canadian immigration has been reduced to 6.5 instead of 7 band.
Only points in listening module has been rised to 7.5 band in ILTS as compared to 7 band requirement in old system.

Yes, If you want to get 4 points for Canadian Immigration in listening module of IELTS than you have to get 7.5 band in listening.
In other modules 6.5 band is enough to get 4 points in each module i.e. reding, writing and speaking.

I think this makes my points 14 and my overall points is 68. Since this is more than the minimum requirement of 67, do I have to reappear for IELTS? Is 16 points mandatory for qualifying although it 16 is the max. one can score? Criteria does not talk about minimum requirement.

So please let me know if my band score is proper for immigration purpose is 5 in reading is acceptable?
Dear please let me know about the reduced In ILTES For this year
Am 27yrs married with 2 kids and having 5yrs experience + holding a bachelor degree in interior design for four full years of study , school is 12yrs + 4yrs in university for bachelor degree = 16yrs of study
For Age I got 12 points
For study I got 21 points
For experience I got 13 points
But for language skills I don't know according to new reduced marks for ILTES
I got in ILTES an over all score of 6.5
listening is 8
Speaking is 7
Writing is 6.5
Reading is 5
Please advice me on my points in language skills please,
