Canada has reduced minimum IELTS score requirement for 4 points of Immigration
As CIC has decreased the minimum IELTS band score from 7 band to 6.5 band to obtain four points for Immigrate to Canada in Skilled Worker Category. Now you can obtain 4 points for one module of IELTS if you score 6.5 band as compared to old system which required at lease 7 Band in IELTS to obtain four points in a specific module of IELTS. Only listening module gained the IELST score instead of reduction. i.e. 7.5, which was 7 previously.
Now you can get 16 points for immigration by having the following minimum band in IELTS
Writing: 6.5 Band
Reading: 6.5 Band
Speaking: 6.5 Band
Listening: 7.5 Band

IELTS 6 might work in some places but 6.5 is recommended for Msc. You cant do job for first 6 months except job inside campus. After 6 months you will get work permit

I have studied in Pakistan. grade 10,higher secondary 2 years, B.COM two years and Masters of Pubic Administration two years. Total 16 years of continuous studies. Hi! i just would like to ask about my application as an immigrant to Canada. I took my ielts academic exam last november 2010 and filed my application last december 2010,unfortunately i was not able to make it to the quota for nurses since it has already reached to the capacity before my papers arrived at the CIO.It was returned just this May 2011, and I was so disappointed when I learned that academic ielts is no longer accepted and that it was changed to general training. Your profession seems to come under 29 required professions - 3152 RN - so you might be eligible for Canadian Immigration. Remember that there is an yearly cap or limit of 10000 applicants and 500 max for each of 29 categories. It means that only 500 registered nurses will get canadian immigration each year .

I think this makes my points 14 and my overall points is 68. Since this is more than the minimum requirement of 67, do I have to reappear for IELTS? Is 16 points mandatory for qualifying although it 16 is the max. one can score? Criteria does not talk about minimum requirement.

i am resident of India and one of know employer willing to give the letter of employment for P.R visa. But my previous exp. in not fall under 29 NOC occupation list. Am i eligible to apply the P.R visa even though my exp. in not fallen under that catagiry. Please help me, if any body knows right information.
