2010 Immigration Policy of Canada

The Canadian government is cheering immigration levels to get together the country's medium and continuing economic requirements. Immigration policy is intended to be a magnet for a further 250,000 new permanent residents in 2010, with the center on attracting rightfully skilled and qualified immigrants that have the aptitude to support Canada's economy during and further than the current economic revival. Ground-breaking adjustments relating to the admission ranges for 2010 have given more tasks to provinces and territories to set the numbers of skilled workers and investment requirements that each region requires.

In setting immigration policy, the Canadian government believes sturdily that provinces and territories should understand how Canada's immigration intake can be associated to their particular labor market needs. In addition, by supporting a regional program of immigration, the government is helping to make sure that the benefits of immigration are dispersed crossways this country. The origination of the Action Plan for quicker Immigration also allows provinces and territories to lend a hand in clearing the log jam of federal skilled worker applicants who have applied under the various sections of the economic group.

i had applied in September 2005....does that means it is good news for me?i have felt strongly the amendment made in Feb 2008 is not fair to peole like us!!

we need to seriously reduce the number of immigrants to Canada for a little while, just have a breather. It's really changing things way too fast, and the Canadians being adversely affected by ridiculous prices for homes and downward pressure on wages have never even been asked if this is what they want.

I agree with April 29th.....AND....
Vancouver looks more like China and India than the country of the last 400 years. This place is looking more and more like a cesspool with non-assimilating immigrants setting up there own countries within Canada. How about we start bringing in more European immigrants? They do a far better job in respecting western values and integrating into our CANADIAN CULTURE...YES, HAD ONE OF THOSE UNTIL THE LIBS SOLD IT OFF TO MULTICULT. Big difference between people immigrating here these days...they seem to have this entitlement feeling, whereas my family worked there ass off for a better life. We cleared our own land, built our own farms, built our own houses, and bulit a life. This country has become a sell-out to chinamen and third worlders.

The new canadian immigration policy is best for backlog applicants particularly 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 applicants

Too many people coming in to bolster a system that doesn't work. It appears that many cultures are remaining separated as much as they can. That's not good. I don't believe Canadians can have much effect on policy but one thing bugs me more than anything; the new arrivals in my area don't know a thing about recycling. How hard would it be to teach that along with the national anthem? More people equals more stress on our local environments.

Selling your assets, quitting your job/career, transferring your wealth to the economy in canada, then with a hope of finding even an entry level job and unlearning to learn is not a possibility. It is a closed society where silently organizations and schools are subtly telling you your papers are not valid and your prior experience does not count. No good thinking immigrant under the professional category expects to jump to the top overnight without hard work and of course doing some courses in key areas in their field of expertise but no one wants to give you a chance. Mostly meanial jobs are available and no sooner you funds will be depleted.

Canada needs more immigrants to compete in today's economy. our GDP is 10th because of population (or the lack of people/buying power). we are a resources country (third world nation) that buys are technology and innovation from the US and Japan and thats not good. We need to assimilate immigrants so they adopt Canadian culture without losing Canadian-ness. Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2010_Nominal_GDP.jpg

To Al

10th in GDP is actually very good, considering our population. In fact, population has nothing to do with our economy. You should be looking more closely at GDP/person as this is a better evaluation of the typical citizens living standards. Look at a country like luxembourg, small population, high living standards.

It would be better to keep our population where it is, because we are a resources based country. Each person would get a larger chunk of the resources we export and our living standards would stay higher due to lack of crowding.

Goverment immigration policy will reduce our
pay chack. We have to be cheap labors like India to be competicions with China,India,North Korea
Nigeria and.......Mexico ...etc.

by 2031 half of all people in canada will be immigrants. we need to do something 5 years ago.Our country will not be able to sustain the growth.Earlier comments suggestthe meshing of cultures does not work and I agree. Immigration works on extremely few circumstances anymore. Very sad to see our beloved country go down the tubes

I had applied on 25-03-2010. What would be the year for me to land in Canada???

Anonymous said...

My daughter in law applied for immigration in 2004 completing and meeting all conditions.Nothing has been heard from High Commission in Canada till today. The High Commission should not play with the life and career of the candidates. A simple Yes or No could have solved the problem. In fact High Commission by not responding has virtually spoiled her carrier. Who is responsible will high Commission consider their fate or still continue to play with the life and careers of the applicants? Non response from High Commission is damaging the good image of Canada. A one line reply yes or know can settle the issue.
