got file number in July 2004. Updated document sent in Sept.2008. In these 7 years many things have changed. After that the processing time acts like rubber. Longer and longer by months. Now more than 7 years completed. Now what to do after waiting for so long. My colleagues who have applied from here in 2008 are already settled in Canada. i am still waiting. But how long. Who is there to listen to our problems? Lets wait. At least before retirement they may call. Federal Skilled Workers who applied before 28 February 2008. Time to Initial Review:- 87 months. Time to Finalization:- 90 months. the period for the year 2004 - 2011 By any standard any where in the universe, time period is not justifiable the situation remains but the same. we are not hearing any movement of 2004 cases. what is the reason for non movement of 2004 cases? Honable minister has sain on june 28 taht he is worried about backlogged cases and will do justice with them. Pl come out with latest development in clearence of 2004 cases.

As per last elections in may-june 2011 in canada, it comes out that the old cases will be treated fastly from 1st august but in vain. Nothing is being done. Now most of the 2004 persons i have contacted are ready to file case against embassy. Make your second option open i.e if we cannot able to go to canada then what to do. Received a letter from Immigration, they are not processing any applications in 2011 and 2012. So best recommendation re-apply. If you were skilled then you are skilled now. No one is getting immigration for the next 3 years. There are approximately 100,000 applicants from 2004 awaiting PR. Each year they can process only 5,000 (including dependents) from the backlog.

Hi, I applied in June'04 and got file no alloted on 14th Aug'04. Updated docuements in Jan'09. Till date i have not received any information from CIC. I even dont know howmany more years should i wait. When i applied I was not having childen , but now i have two of which the first one is 6 years old. I am not sure whether i can get visa before her marriage.
The canadian govt. should take some step, either to clear the backlog or tell the applicants about the fate of their files. The govt should not keep the applcants in dark and play spoilsport with the applicants.

It's so upsetting to know that how naive are we people. Face the truth that their aim is to slow down the immigration from India. They know that after 7-8 yrs of life people would have been settled already in India by some means due to the frustration of long waiting time. Many of them wil have children, parents to take care of, medical issues, some small businesses or job already going on etc. etc. Their message is clear, "GET A LIFE IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY". I would add in Punjabi'Door de Dhol suhawne." I have been abroad for the past 7 yrs and I pray everyday to go back to India. Trust me, it's not worth. Dreams of having a better life in far-away land will shatter soon once you get to stay in that land. Once you are uprooted, then you realize how terrible decision it is, but then there won't be any going back, because you waited for this opportunity for so long, left everything behind, and now are stuck, thinknig what to do. You will spend your day in Canada and night in India in dreams. So, people just enjoy your life in India as much as you can. You will miss that a lot once you come to Canada. Good luck to all.

OTTAWA — The federal government will refund up to $130 million to federal skilled workers who applied to come to Canada before 2008 in a bid to get rid of a backlog of about 300,000 applications through legislation.
The plan, outlined in part in Thursday’s budget, will ultimately allow the government to ensure skilled newcomers actually meet current labour market needs.
The budget didn’t include plans to legislate away the entire backlog of nearly one million, which includes another 160,000 skilled workers who applied after 2008.

When a passenger plane get delayed 3-4 hours consumer courts all over the world direct Airlines to compensate it. Now just see, people waited for 7-8 years for their application process and find simple rejection of their application in which all fault lies with Canadian government. People will get back application fee which they paid 8 years back no mention of interest / inflation.forget about compensation. They must pay heavy compensation as people suffered lot of pain and agony during these all years. And what a irony, this controversial bill will be passed by Canadian Parliament. God Bless all applicant and give them courage to bear this unfortunate decision of Canadian government.

now it is obvious that minister kenney is no longer interested in processing pre 2008 cases...(don't know for what he was fighting in all this time)... now what you would say about this.... do u still advise people to have patience...

I think some court case is in progress for which th june is date fixed for final hearing. see what happens to this litigation.
