New policy of Canada Immigration for Skilled Workers

Canadian Immigration Minister Jason Kenney's instructions to Visa officers regarding the processing of skilled workers have effected from February 27, 2008.

Except you fall within the new criterion for federal skilled workers, your Immigration Case submission will not be processed and your application fee will be refunded. You will have to discover some other way to immigrate to Canada.

So as to qualify in the federal skilled worker class, an applicant should have at least one of the following in addition to other requirements of the skilled worker category:

1. An offer of arranged employment in Canada, or

2. One year of student or full time employment experience in Canada, or

3. You must have experience (At least 1 year) in one of the following categories.

Good day,

I would like to know if my immigration application as permanent resident will be affected by this new policy.

I filed my application in Manila, Philippines last 2006. I received the acknowledgement letter of application on July 2006, Then I received another letter from embassy last November 2008.

Is my application might be affected by this new policies?

Thank you very much

Your immigration application will not affected by new policy. Your application will be treated as per the policy of 2006

I read also in some articles that backlog of 2006 will not be processed due to implementation of new immigrant policy as of 2011? Is that true? Am I affected by this new policy?

Your a great help. Thanks once again.

guess you haven't heard the latest. Provinces will tell the Feds how many immigrants they have jobs for and that will determine the quotas set going forward.

I have less than 2 years work experience in 1 of the priority listing which I would only get 15 points from it, my question is do they give points on my other work experience even if its not included in 29 priority occupations, because I need to get maximum points on work experience to have 67 points
