I applied in aug 2007 and got file no. in nov 2007. in the next letter i got in aug 2008, they asked me "if u r not interested in immigrating, can get ur fee back within 3months or it wud b kept for processing"from chc new delhi.
a)When should i expect my next letter and wen shud i give my ielts?
b) earlier wen i applied, only my wife was nurse, now my 2 children are about to complete their nursing soon. will it hv a +ve effect on my case?
c) I am turning 51 soon. will there b any problem r/t this in my case?

This is Mateen from Karachi. I applied for Canadian Immigration as Federal Skilled Worker in 2006. Online status shows that the file was submitted on 30 March 2006. Later on I went to Canada on student visa and did second masters from there. I came back and got married. Whereas, when I tried to incquire about updating my application, I was told to keep the communication at minimum and will be told to update my profile when my case processing begins. Last year my online account status showed that my file hase been transferred to London on 29th Sep 2010 and LOndon office may contact me. I applied under "Market Analyst" position.
I wrote a letter to London office to update my status and submit the application fees of my wife and daughter. They send me a letter stating that I will be contacted for update when my case processing begins.
I am still waiting for the reply. Please guide me that how much further it would take to begin processing. Please please help!!!
Dear Mateen, Why did you came back after studies from Canada? Didnt you got a work permit or a job there. Your immigration case might be start processing within 1 year

Yes I applied for work permit and got 1 year work permit as well. But I had to come back in Sep 2008 to get married and I was under impression that my immigration would also start within a year or so. Therefore, I was much relaxed. Also during 2007-2008 it was recession time and there were no/less jobs.
I hope my immigration processing starts soon. Please guide if there could be any additional thing that I could do.

Yes after my MBA, I got work permit but unfortunately during 2007-2008 it was peak recession and there were almost no/less jobs. Also I thought that since I applied immigration in 2006, very soon within a year or so my case will start. Therefore, I cam back in Sep 2008 and also got married in 2009.
I never knew that it would take so long. Now when I look back, I feel that returning back was my biggest mistake. Please guide if I could do anything to get started with my immigration process.
@mateen, Things were messed up due to changing of immigration policy. Now things are harmonized and the new applications are restricted to 10,000 per year. Canada is now focusing on clearing backlog first

At the time of submitting application i.e. March 2006, I filed my application under "MARKET ANALYST" category as I was working in a Marketing Planning Department at an Oil Marketing Company. However, with time I had a chance to work in different roles and currently I am Zonal Head of Consumer Sales & Marketing Department at another Oil Marketing Company. Do you think that this is ok and my application would still be considered normal?
Secondly, I filed application as a principal applicant and my spouse's and daughter's application is not yet filed. Earlier I tried to contact Islamabad Office but recieved and lately I also wrote to London Office. London office wrote back to me stating to wait till my case starts and they will update me. Do you think this is ok?
I applied for PR under federal skilled category from Dhaka in November 2006 and received the file number showing that my case would be processed within 48 months. Later in November 2009, I got a letter from CHC-Singapore requesting me that I send my relevant documents with IELTS result and bank draft for “right of landing fee” within three months (i.e. February 2010). I did send my result of IELTS scoring 7 point (speaking 8, writing 7.5, listening 7.5, reading 5) including other requested documents. After sending these documents by February 2010, I haven’t heard from CHC. Whenever I check my status online, I always see “in process”. Therefore, please help me in the following queries:
1. How long it will take to process my application? 2. Do I have to write IELTS exam again?

dear sir, good day, i would like to know what year now is on process for immigrants under simplified FSW? is there any progress? the last time i inquired in cic,around june 2011. They are still working on application for november 2004. Would you know if they are really working on backlog? /the last time processing period for applicants from the philippines last june was 75. I am A.B from Punjab, India. I have applied for Canadian PR in January 2006 and received my file Number on April 29, 2006 from CHC New Delhi under skilled Federal Category. I am an ADVOCATE and still in Practice. At the time of my application the receipt letter shows the processing period starts after 52 months . But as the time period of 52 Months lapsed my consultant (CANAM Chd.) received a letter from CHC that the waiting period has been extended upto 87 to 90 months.

Dear Comrade, Our filed was received in Canadian Immigration Office as Skilled worker in Islamabad at 28 August 2006, then we received the confirmation letter showing that they have started processing our file on 6 September 2006. We received the final willingness letter on July 2009. The processing time in the CIC website shows that 87 months are needed for finalization and we have been waiting for 63 months. While when we applied the website showed 67 months for completion.
My Question is that will we have to wait another 24 months?

If you submit an application for permanent residence in Canada under the Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) program before Feb 27, 2008, there may be a good news for you.
We recently received correspondences from 3 Provincial Case Processing Pilot offices of Citizenship and Immigration Canada for 92 clients informing them of their opportunity to apply under Provincial Nominee Program. This is part of CIC's Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) Program Backlog Reduction Pilot program. The three provinces are Alberta, Ontario and Manitoba. If you declared any of this province as your destination in Canada and your occupation is included in the province's in-demand occupation, you will receive a letter of invitation from the province.
The aim of this pilot is to nominate FSW applicants with experience in any occupations under Provincial Nominee Programs.
If you receive this kind of letter, it is your chance to have an expedited process!

Only the jobs in demand (29 categories) will be contacted and the remaining categories of applicants might be warehoused as the NZ immi did to its 2003 applicants. Pls. follow/google the speeches by the Canadian Immi ministers made this month, particularly this week. Pls. read very carefully, the requirements of provincewise PNP programs: they are focusing on Canadian degree/experience and labor class people which most of the pre-2008 applicants don't have. They have previously lied--they have 1 million backlog which the Minister said they'd be unable to clear before 2017 and said that by that time those applicants would be over 50. So the applicants, who have their categories in the current PNP, would be approached as the private companies would have access to the govt. immi database. This is highway robbery. For instance, a Canadian school or bank will never recruit a pakistani, bangladeshi or indian guy without interviewing or the southasian working platform is lot different from a northamerican. Some smart guys understood it and they had lodged case last year. Pls. see www.unfaircic.com. On 15 March, they r gonna pass it as law.

Dear Comrade, I have seen my uncle who applied in Jan 2008 at Singapore CHC got letter last week that he should send all docs by 2 months' deadline except landing fee. I applied in 2006 and in 2010 after CHC request sent all docs including the landing fees. I haven't heard after that. Why Singapore started 2008 file instead of 2007? canadian immigration is refusing about 280000 apllications under federal skilled workers filed before 27 feb 2008.and approx 20000 applications will pass the selection criteria.this is really an injustice for people who have waited for more than seven years.
he Government of Canada announced on 29 March 2012 a plan to reduce the backlog of Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) applications by returning all applications and government fees submitted prior to 27 February 2008. This will amount to a total of almost 300,000 returned applications, as well as approximately $130 million in refunded government processing fees.
Approximately 160,000 FSW applications, submitted after 28 February 2008, will remain in queue for processing.

we all have to protest against the decision of Candian Immgration according to candian law, this is not fair to receive the application acknowledge it issue file numbers and after 7 year return the same because of backlock, Further, so many of us may have other oppertunities during 7 year but we did not opt that because of finalization of candian immigration, who is going to pay for this. We all should record strong protest and should not down our voice show strength.

I applied in may 2006 but till this date am waiting for reply from the CHC Isb.Now in April 2012 they have annouced that the will simply return the application alongwith the fees under a new law.this is simply unacceptabel and a backtrack from commitment.
what will happen with cases of 2006. Is there any progress or chance to complete these cases within 12 months. I think CIC should offer alternate to all old cases like a PNP Immigration. It may be logical but not acceptable for all. I think CIC should clear old cases first even on the basis of new Occupations in demand first.
Dear All Applicant of 2006 please share any information related to procesing of these cases at CHC London for Cases from Pakistan especially. I emailed specific enquiry to CHC London about a month ago but they did not respond to it. Even i emailed CHC Islamabad, they are also not responding. What they want from us is reflecting that they try to delay & delay our cases without any reason & endeavour not to communicate with us at any time. This is really ridiculous & waste of time. If they want to refuse our cases, they should take immediate step & advise us for future prospects with other options including PNP Immigration.

If your file is still In Process right now means after 26 December, 2012. You are in the safe side. Because they have update all e-case status in 25 December. And Those people who have “ Decision Made” in Their e-case status , Their file already canceled or return their fees. And those people who have still show “ In Process”. Their file should be continue and coming in a successful end.

Yes I applied for work permit and got 1 year work permit as well. But I had to come back in Sep 2008 to get married and I was under impression that my immigration would also start within a year or so. Therefore, I was much relaxed. Also during 2007-2008 it was recession time and there were no/less jobs.
I hope my immigration processing starts soon. Please guide if there could be any additional thing that I could do.

Yes after my MBA, I got work permit but unfortunately during 2007-2008 it was peak recession and there were almost no/less jobs. Also I thought that since I applied immigration in 2006, very soon within a year or so my case will start. Therefore, I cam back in Sep 2008 and also got married in 2009.
I never knew that it would take so long. Now when I look back, I feel that returning back was my biggest mistake. Please guide if I could do anything to get started with my immigration process.

Things were messed up due to changing of immigration policy. Now things are harmonized and the new applications are restricted to 10,000 per year. Canada is now focusing on clearing backlog first

At the time of submitting application i.e. March 2006, I filed my application under "MARKET ANALYST" category as I was working in a Marketing Planning Department at an Oil Marketing Company. However, with time I had a chance to work in different roles and currently I am Zonal Head of Consumer Sales & Marketing Department at another Oil Marketing Company. Do you think that this is ok and my application would still be considered normal?
Secondly, I filed application as a principal applicant and my spouse's and daughter's application is not yet filed. Earlier I tried to contact Islamabad Office but recieved and lately I also wrote to London Office. London office wrote back to me stating to wait till my case starts and they will update me. Do you think this is ok?

I applied for PR under federal skilled category from Dhaka in November 2006 and received the file number showing that my case would be processed within 48 months. Later in November 2009, I got a letter from CHC-Singapore requesting me that I send my relevant documents with IELTS result and bank draft for “right of landing fee” within three months (i.e. February 2010). I did send my result of IELTS scoring 7 point (speaking 8, writing 7.5, listening 7.5, reading 5) including other requested documents. After sending these documents by February 2010, I haven’t heard from CHC. Whenever I check my status online, I always see “in process”. Therefore, please help me in the following queries:
1. How long it will take to process my application?
2. Do I have to write IELTS exam again?

I am an ADVOCATE and still in Practice. At the time of my application the receipt letter shows the processing period starts after 52 months . But as the time period of 52 Months lapsed my consultant (CANAM Chd.) received a letter from CHC that the waiting period has been extended upto 87 to 90 months.

Our filed was received in Canadian Immigration Office as Skilled worker in Islamabad at 28 August 2006, then we received the confirmation letter showing that they have started processing our file on 6 September 2006. We received the final willingness letter on July 2009.
The processing time in the CIC website shows that 87 months are needed for finalization and we have been waiting for 63 months. While when we applied the website showed 67 months for completion.
My Question is that will we have to wait another 24 months?

If you submit an application for permanent residence in Canada under the Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) program before Feb 27, 2008, there may be a good news for you.
We recently received correspondences from 3 Provincial Case Processing Pilot offices of Citizenship and Immigration Canada for 92 clients informing them of their opportunity to apply under Provincial Nominee Program. This is part of CIC's Federal Skilled Workers (FSW) Program Backlog Reduction Pilot program. The three provinces are Alberta, Ontario and Manitoba. If you declared any of this province as your destination in Canada and your occupation is included in the province's in-demand occupation, you will receive a letter of invitation from the province.
The aim of this pilot is to nominate FSW applicants with experience in any occupations under Provincial Nominee Programs.
If you receive this kind of letter, it is your chance to have an expedited process!

Only the jobs in demand (29 categories) will be contacted and the remaining categories of applicants might be warehoused as the NZ immi did to its 2003 applicants. Pls. follow/google the speeches by the Canadian Immi ministers made this month, particularly this week. Pls. read very carefully, the requirements of provincewise PNP programs: they are focusing on Canadian degree/experience and labor class people which most of the pre-2008 applicants don't have. They have previously lied--they have 1 million backlog which the Minister said they'd be unable to clear before 2017 and said that by that time those applicants would be over 50. So the applicants, who have their categories in the current PNP, would be approached as the private companies would have access to the govt. immi database. This is highway robbery. For instance, a Canadian school or bank will never recruit a pakistani, bangladeshi or indian guy without interviewing or the southasian working platform is lot different from a northamerican. Some smart guys understood it and they had lodged case last year. Pls. see www.unfaircic.com. On 15 March, they r gonna pass it as law.

I have seen my uncle who applied in Jan 2008 at Singapore CHC got letter last week that he should send all docs by 2 months' deadline except landing fee. I applied in 2006 and in 2010 after CHC request sent all docs including the landing fees. I haven't heard after that. Why Singapore started 2008 file instead of 2007? I heard they haven't contacted anybody of 2007. Do you have any idea?

canadian immigration is refusing about 280000 apllications under federal skilled workers filed before 27 feb 2008.and approx 20000 applications will pass the selection criteria.this is really an injustice for people who have waited for more than seven years.

But I heard the applicants who submitted the landing fees still have (a) their medicals left, (b) their status shows "in process". we all have to protest against the decision of Candian Immgration according to candian law, this is not fair to receive the application acknowledge it issue file numbers and after 7 year return the same because of backlock, Further, so many of us may have other oppertunities during 7 year but we did not opt that because of finalization of candian immigration, who is going to pay for this.
We all should record strong protest and should not down our voice show strength.

I applied in may 2006 but till this date am waiting for reply from the CHC Isb.Now in April 2012 they have annouced that the will simply return the application alongwith the fees under a new law.this is simply unacceptabel and a backtrack from commitment.
what will happen with cases of 2006. Is there any progress or chance to complete these cases within 12 months. I think CIC should offer alternate to all old cases like a PNP Immigration. It may be logical but not acceptable for all. I think CIC should clear old cases first even on the basis of new Occupations in demand first.

I emailed specific enquiry to CHC London about a month ago but they did not respond to it. Even i emailed CHC Islamabad, they are also not responding. What they want from us is reflecting that they try to delay & delay our cases without any reason & endeavour not to communicate with us at any time. This is really ridiculous & waste of time. If your file is still In Process right now means after 26 December, 2012. You are in the safe side. Because they have update all e-case status in 25 December.
