You must take IELTS or any other Enlish Language Proficiency Test if you want to get admission in any of Canadian Universities. Although there are some exceptions if you have been proved that you have taught in English medium at higher school level for at least two years.

5.5 band is low because the majority of canadian universities requires minimum 7 band in ielts. so i recommend you to take ielts again.

i applied for jan session bt my visa get refused.there reason was general..they said my qualification is less for taking admission in the course dat i had mentioned but college gone through all my papers of qualification so they gave me admission.then i deposited my fee in dat college.In the refusal paper it was also written dat thy r not satisfied dat i'l return back 2 my country aftr the complition of my course....bt i was really wanna get study of dat course..bt i was not trying 2 settle there...because for settlement i have many other criterias..i didnt get any solid reason for my visa refusal....tell me the way how can i knw apply again for may session.if i'l change the course.they will again put question why i changed the course?

I got Admitted to the University of Ottawa. Got 6A's n 2B's in O'Levels, got 3A's in AS Level Exams, am appearing for A'Levels in 5 subjects. Gave SAT 1 and gained a score of 1880. Basically i am a graduate in mechanical engineeringI have taken english as first language in my whole academic career.When i searched in the NAIT university where i got admission for diploma in power engineering about ielts requirement for student visa, i got the information that i dont have to appear for IELTS test.i am writing this to get advise form you that should i dont have to appear for ielts test.
