CIC Attempts to Finish Backlog

CIC is presently struggling to cope with a huge backlog of immigration applications. The log jam of Canadian immigration applications is hurting Canada's standing as a most favorite immigration aim for skilled migrants. In a number of cases people prefer Australia, New Zealand and Denmark as a substitute immigration destination.

Canadian Immigration Minister Honorable Jason Kenney said that this state of affairs was a big problem. He has spoken repeatedly about the requirement to make the application process more efficient and get the backlog under control.

Numerous hearings on this matter are pending to take place before the House of Commons immigration committee.

Critics say that at the same time as the government talks regarding lessen the backlog, they are also continuing to allow big numbers of new Canadian immigration applications, so making the problem worse.

"At the same time as Canada continues to welcome historically high records of new immigrants, and maintains the most open and liberal immigration system in the planet, we have to cautiously administer the large number of populace around the globe who desire to be Canadian," a representative for Kenney told.

The Canadian government declared that since 2008, they have reduced the speed of the backlog through measures which bound immigration in certain areas, for instance the investor route. Furthermore, people who submit an application as skilled workers and have experience in 29 most wanted jobs are fast tracked and have their applications approved inside months.

The people who bear the longest waiting times comprise parents and grandparents of permanent residents and immigrants who applied previous to the changes introduced in 2008. Pre 2008 applicants are now focused by Canadian Government and their processing is speedier than ever.

  1. canadian immigration respnsible official can never understand and feel the depth of restlessness of long waiting applicants just becaue they are on royal side of offering immigration of their country but long waiting applicants from pakistan whose applications have been transfered to CIC London without mentioning any reason are still optimistic to be the successful canadian immigrant still in that age when they have loosed all their passion to serve canada through utilization of their entire capabilities. it has now became a dream for those who applied in their year 2007, 2008 or earlier to get any good news in their mail box from CIC London because they have to complete the punishment of leaving their own country just because of a fewer compromisable reasons. lets hope for the best.

  5. I am a Sep 2004 applicant and I havent heard anything till now. The whole process seems completely absurd. Current wait times on CIC websit says 90 months !!. As per their rules I cant even write to anybody unless we are past that wait period which seems to be a moving target. I have seen wait times move from 60 months to 87 months and now to 90 months. whats happening Canada??

  9. I am writing to you this letter to complain and ask for help .I am among the thousands of oppressed people who applied for emigration as a FSW by 2008 and will destroy their lives and their dreams in the case of approval of the closure of their files in this unfair step.

In the beginning, the most important reasons for our choice of immigration to Canada is our belief as a country dominated by the values of justice, equality and a human rights. and we sacrificed with a lot of effort and money and time in order to prepare our files, hoping to start a new life and future for us and for our children in Canada, and we accept to wait until completion of the thousands of files, which made for Migration after us years as if we were punished on the speed of our sponsorship immigration applications and then be surprised, after waiting for more than 6 years of the Government's decision to slash our files without the slightest sense of responsibility for the destruction of the lives of thousands of families by this unfair decision , which reflects definitely the absence of respecting our humanity and our rights of dealing with our files equally like others, and without respect to the agreement between us and the government ,I ask you to imagine how much damage the physical and psychological effect on us and our families from the destruction of our lives and the loss of many opportunities and effort and years waiting for the start of our lives in Canada, what can make up all of that ?and is it required from us to start again after the loss of all these years ? the law may pass by the strong majority in the government, but how to pass from the punishment of God for the injustice and the destruction of the lives of these families, I hope you can help us in the delivery of our voices to all shades of Canadian society and I am sure that such a decision gives voice about the value and harm the reputation of Canada's more than good and we are ready to provide any additional guarantees or wait until the processing our files until 2017, but please do not damage our lives and the lives of our children by this tough and unfair decision.
